Kasteeltuinen Arcen

Kasteeltuinen Arcen is located in the picturesque village of Arcen, in the beautiful Maasduinen region of Northern Limburg. It is one of the most versatile flower and plant parks in Europe. Let your senses be stimulated, experience the history and discover the more than 15 unique gardens that have been laid out around a historic country estate with a 17th century castle.

Kasteeltuinen Arcen is not only known for their beautiful flora and fauna. You will also enjoy a wonderful day out for the entire family. Visit one of the events, walk on the marked paths or just outside and relax in one of the various restaurants.

War Museum Overloon

War belongs in the museum. That is the motto of the War Museum Overloon. The War Museum Overloon presents the history of the Second World War. Here you see how it can be that in five years’ time more than fifty million people lost their lives, but also how the oppressed people resourcefully coped with restrictions and shortages. There is attention to the opposition, but also to the persecution. Finally, there is, of course, also attention paid to the liberation, with special attention to the Battle of Overloon.

Open air museum De Locht

Museum de Locht provides a good picture of rural life in northern Limburg from 1850 to 1950 with exhibitions, presentations of old crafts, utensils and tools. The National Asparagus and Mushroom Museum are housed in separate pavilions on the grounds. Here you get a clear picture of the cultivation of both crops and the tools used. On Sundays there are regular demonstrations and special activities for children and adults. These include demonstrations of old crafts such as: baking bread, weaving, tailoring, blacksmithing or making syrup. Children can also have fun with various old-fashioned and modern toys.
